Patricia Lee Ritter

Patricia Lee Ritter, 80, of Hemphill, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at Sabine County Hospital after an accident. Patricia was born November 29, 1943 in Beaumont, to J. N. Gore and Iva Lee Durham Gore. Before becoming a resident of Legacies Nursing and Rehab, she had lived in many places, including Alaska and Oregon, before returning to Texas. Over the years, she had worked in Data Processing where she was a supervisor.

Ms. Myrtle Lee Teagle, age 77, of Beaumont, departed this physical life on February 13, 2024, at Harbor Hospice House Beaumont in Beaumont. Ms Teagle was born December 11, 1946. Myrtle was survived by her son Kerry L. Teagle (Jacqueline) of Houston, two daughters Lavetta P. Teagle of Houston and Damitra James (Eric) of Port Arthur, eight grandchildren and fifthteen great grandchildren, brother Joe William Teagle of San Augustine and sister Sheila Woods (Wilson) of California. As well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Janine Marie Hughes, 69 of Milam, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 14th, 2024 in the comfort of her home in Milam. Born August 31, 1954 in St. Paul, MN, Janine is the daughter of the late Kenneth Martin, and survived by her mother Barbra Lundberg. Janine is survived by: Daughter, Emily Jones and husband, Marcus Jones, Step-son, Kevin Hughes and wife, Janice Sledge Hughes, Daughter-in-law, Sonya Barnes Hughes, Grandchildren: Kaleb Hughes, Michelle Johnson and Marissa Johnson. Siblings: Brother, Jeff Martin and wife, Terry, Sister, Janette Short and husband Jeff, Brother, Jim Martin and wife, Linda and Brother, Jerry Martin and wife, Judy.

Cindy Ann Dorn

Cindy Ann Dorn, 57, of Bronson, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at her residence. Cindy was born March 1, 1966 in Jasper, to Oscar Retherford and Margie Chappell. She was a 35-year resident of Sabine County, having previously lived in Vidor, Texas. Cindy had a talent for cooking and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, making meals for her loved ones. In addition to her love for cooking, Cindy also enjoyed gambling whenever she had the chance.

Bettyann Ashworth

Bettyann Ashworth, 83, of Hemphill, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in Nacogdoches. Bettyann was born May 30, 1940 in Palmerton, Pennsylvania. A former resident of Vidor, she had lived in Hemphill for the past seven years. She was a loving wife and mother that enjoyed cooking and taking care of her husband. She was a good woman that knew Jesus and loved her church and her cat, Wilbur. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Coiless Ashworth of Hemphill; son, Michael Ashworth of Bridge City; daughters, Towanna Ashworth of Port St. Joe, Florida and Crystal Ashworth Berg and husband, Chuck Smith, of Hosford, Florida; son-in-law, John Berg of Bristol, Florida; and grandchildren, Ashley Palermo and husband, Ian, Cassidy Ashworth, Dakoda Berg and Megan Hill.

Carol Louise Ferguson

On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, Carol Louise Ferguson of Rosevine, was called to her heavenly home. She passed from this life in Lufkin, surrounded by her family. She was 80 years young. Carol was born August 6, 1943, in San Antonio, to Jesse George Beavers and Eudora Elizabeth Frazier Beavers. In September of 1963, she married the love of her life, Bruce Kennard Ferguson. For fifty-eight of their wonderful 60 years together, Bruce and Carol resided at their beautiful homestead in Rosevine where they raised their three children and welcomed each son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild, and great-grandson.

Marsha Kay Williams Jackson

Marsha Kay Williams Jackson, 69, of Milam, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill. Marsha was born September 25, 1954 in Nacogdoches, to Lindell Brown and Joyce Neal Brown. She was a lifetime resident of Sabine County and a member of East Mayfield Baptist Church. She had worked as a secretary for Hemphill ISD for many years where her smile was the first to greet you as you entered the school.

Wanda Sue Moody Loper

Wanda Sue Moody Loper was called to her heavenly home on January 30th, 2024 at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Sue was born on June 24th, 1948 in Six Mile, to Denton David Moody and Adalene Smith Moody. A longtime resident of Longview, Wanda (Sue) was a family woman. When her mother died when she was twelve years old, Sue eagerly helped take care of her younger brothers, whether it be school work or other daily tasks. This love of family grew even more when she and her late husband, Jerry Loper welcomed a child of their own. Their son Trent was born while Jerry was serving in Vietnam. Sue dedicated her whole life to Trent, as he was her pride and joy.
