She then went to Angelina College where she completed the phlebotomy program and began working as a phlebotomist.

Prentice spent his career at Temple- Inland, where he worked diligently as an oiler until his retirement. He was also skilled in building swimming pools and fences, a testament to his craftsmanship and work ethic. Beyond his professional life, Prentice was a passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and gardening, activities that brought him great peace and joy.

Her devotion extended into her spiritual life as well. A devout Catholic, Karen was a faithful servant who lived her life for the Lord, actively participating in her community at St. Pius Catholic Church in Hemphill.

As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation held Saturday, March 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Garner & Son Chapel.

A proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Class of 1977, Curtis furthered his education by earning a master's degree and he was currently studying at the University of Arizona. He dedicated his career to the oil and gas industry, where he excelled as a Project Control Manager, respected for his meticulousness and leadership.
