Prentice Cravey, 85, of Brookeland, passed away on March 17, 2026, in Lufkin. Born on December 22, 1940, in Fred, to Bob Cravey and Pearlie Mae McKee Cravey, he was a cherished member of his community. Prentice spent his career at Temple- Inland, where he worked diligently as an oiler until his retirement. He was also skilled in building swimming pools and fences, a testament to his craftsmanship and work ethic. Beyond his professional life, Prentice was a passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and gardening, activities that brought him great peace and joy.

Karen Elizabeth Harris of Hemphill, passed away on March 15, 2026, in Longview, at the age of 68. She was born on April 11, 1957, in Tampa, Florida to Billy Fyfe and Valeria Lambrecht Fyfe, Karen spent many years in Houston, before moving to Sabine County where she spent the last two decades of her life. Karen dedicated many years to the home health care industry as a home health aide, demonstrating a profound commitment to the well-being of others. Her devotion extended into her spiritual life as well. A devout Catholic, Karen was a faithful servant who lived her life for the Lord, actively participating in her community at St. Pius Catholic Church in Hemphill.

James Earl Crockett, age 70, of Geneva, departed this physical life on Saturday, March 07, 2026, at his residence, in Geneva. Mr. James Earl Crockett was born June 26, 1955. Survived by his son: Marquency Brooks of Houston, daughter: Lisa Brooks of Nacogdoches, four grandchildren, two sisters: Lonie C. Boyd of Gloster, LA and Iva Nell Simmons of San Augustine. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation held Saturday, March 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Garner & Son Chapel.

A proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Class of 1977, Curtis furthered his education by earning a master's degree and he was currently studying at the University of Arizona. He dedicated his career to the oil and gas industry, where he excelled as a Project Control Manager, respected for his meticulousness and leadership.

Lisa Lamena Anderson passed away on March 3, 2026, at the age of 50, in Brookeland. Born on January 28, 1976, in Houston, to Roger Dale Lewis and Laura Lavern Montgomery, Lisa spent her early years in Baytown, before moving to Brookeland. Lisa was known for her passion for building mechanical cars and her love for diamond art. Her creativity and hands-on skills brought joy not only to her but also to those around her. She is survived by her mother, Laura Carey and her husband, Robert, of Brookeland; her son, Richard Dobbins of Brookeland; daughters, Jessica Bryant of Baytown and Stacie Bailey of Houston; her brother, Michael Christopher Schilling and his wife of California; grandchildren, Nolan, Scarlett, and Violet; her boyfriend, Gary Mason; and numerous other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Roger Lewis, and her son, Nolan Anderson.

Cody Ray Thompson, 43, of Bronson, passed away on February 22, 2026. Born on January 15, 1983, in Nacogdoches, Cody was the beloved son of Adrion Ray Thompson and Mitzie Ann Wooten Thompson Currier. He spent his early years in Sabine County and then in Orange and Burkeville, to be close to his mother and stepfather, then later in Kirbyville.

Judith Carolyn Soucie

Judith Carolyn “Judy” Soucie (née Snider), 79, of San Augustine passed away March 3, 2026. A memorial service was held March 6, 2026, at Liberty Hill Cemetery, San Augustine. Judy was one of two children born to Daisy Goings Snider and Euell Elton “Buck” Snider in Shelby County on May 21, 1946. In 1979, Judy received her teacher’s certification and was a devoted educator throughout her career. She served as principal of Brookeland High School in Sabine County before retiring in 2009.
