Hemphill Church of Christ

Body
What Jistification by Faith Includes Part 2 It is contended by some that Saul (later known as the apostle Paul) was saved on the road to Damascus. If he was, he did not know it! After Paul had believed, he cried out, “What shall I do Lord?” Is it not strange, in view of what many teach, that the Lord did not say, “Do nothing, Saul, you are a believer now; therefore, you are saved?” Folks will tell you, “When you are saved, you will know it!” Again, their strongest argument is, “I am saved because I know it.” Once more, if Saul (Paul) were saved the moment he believed, he did not know it! For that very reason we once more can say with confidence that Paul could not have been saved on the Damascus road, because he did not know it, and he should have if what they say is true!

McMahan Chapel Participating in Sale on the Trail

Body
McMahan Chapel UMC will be participating in the Sale on the Trail, May 5th and 6th. If you have items that you would like to donate, please call 936.275.6843 to arrange to meet at the Event Center. All sales proceeds will go to the Chapel. And even if you just want to come by to visit, we'll have our big old tacky McMahan Chapel Garage Sale sign out on Hwy 21 on the Friday and Saturday of the Sale. We'll also have cold water and all kinds of goodies to buy to snack on. And don't forget that it's in the Air Conditioned Event Center with clean restrooms. This year we’ll have all sorts of things. We will not have clothes. But we may have some furniture. Come by and just check us out if nothing else. The museum and the Chapel will be open also. We will be more than happy to show you the museum and give you a little tour of the Chapel and area. There’s a lot of history there for the last 190 years. We usually stay open until 3 or 4 pm, depending on the traffic. When you see the sign at Hwy 21, 10 miles east of San Augustine and 10 miles west of Milam, turn onto Spur 35 for a quick and beautiful 2 miles. You can’t miss us.
