Somebody you know is going to spend this Fourth of July holding a glass of sweet tea at a cookout, hoping no one asks why they aren't drinking. They'll laugh at the right times, throw a football with the kids, and tell anyone who offers them a beer that they're good.

I had turned, to leave the bathroom. Then, I saw it. A large blob, of something, was just above the window. Oh, no! Instantly, I knew what it was. I thought I had missed out, on this pesky stuff, this year. Each Spring, a bunch of black ants make my bathroom, their temporary home. I have researched them. They come in, to reproduce. They build a nest and then I find dead ones, all over the floor. I spray my bathrooms and kitchen, often. I hate bugs, of any kind. But, evidently, I don’t get them all. They usually build their nest on the window sill. That’s easy for me; to dispose of and spray. This year, it is out of my reach. All my kids are elsewhere. I decided not to wait on them. I would just do it myself.
