Tigers Battle Eagles in Bi-District Play

Body
In an odd quirk, the West Sabine Lady Tigers took on the Woden Eagles in the bi district round in Many, LA in a two out of three series starting April 24. In game one the ladies would battle back to tie the Lady Eagles at 2 after scoring single runs in the 5th on an Avrie Malone RBI single and a Gracie Ross RBI single in the sixth. Unfortunately the Eagles would plate two in their half of the sixth to make the final 4-2.

Cats Take Two of Three on the Week

Body
The 1A #4 ranked Brookeland Wildcats were busy this past week, with three games in three consecutive days. The Wildcats would score all they would need in the first inning as they put up a 12 spot against the Burkeville Mustangs, with key hits off the bats of both Sammy Lundquist and Jake Bennett propelling the Wildcats to a 12-0 cakewalk over the Mustangs on April 15.

Tigers and Hornets Tussle

Body
It was a tale of two teams going in different directions as both the West Sabine Tigers and Hemphill Hornets saw action this past week. West Sabine would get down 6-1 early vs. the Groveton Indians but would rally in the bottom of the sixth with three runs via two bases loaded walks and an error by the Indian SS to bring it to 6-4. Much to the consternation of the Tiger faithful, however, that’s where it stayed and West Sabine fell 6-4 on April 15.
