Driving the lane…

The West Sabine Tigers and Hemphill Hornets renewed hostilities on the court January 10 in Pineland. The first half was nip and tuck, as the Hornets eased ahead to take a 17-15 lead at halftime. The Hornets came out like a house of fire in the third, extending their lead 35-28 entering the final quarter. Hemphill stayed hot while much to the chagrin of Tiger faithful West Sabine couldn’t buy a bucket as the Hornets eased away with a 57-41 win. Hemphill’s Trayvion McDaniel led all scorers with 30(24 in the second half) while Jakobe Harris paced the Tiger attack with 12 as Kameron Streigel followed him with nine.

Hemphill FFA recently participated in the Pineywoods District Competition at SFASU. Five teams brought home banners and 3 teams advanced to area.

There isn’t anything much better than flag football on a Saturday morning. These kiddos know the secret of life... run and have fun. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the day. Hemphill dominated this Super Bowl game with great rushing yardage and defense to win 30 - 6.

West Sabine dominated this game against Logansport with good passing and lots of long rushing yardage to take the win at 20 - 6. The Tigers hosted the three Super Bowl games on Saturday at their field in Pineland.
