Parade and Pep Rally...

Body
The parade and pep rally had lots of great entertainment from all over. The D R Martial Arts Accademy, who is new to town, was the winning business owner of the parade while the junior class won the over all for the school floats- they had a Tiger Safari going on. There were lots of great entries this year and it was surely hard for the judges to decide a winner. After the parade, fans, players, band members, businesses and faculty gathered around the square for a community pep rally before the crowning and big game.

Powder Puff...

Body
West Sabine Lady Tigers held a Powder Puff football game this last Monday evening. Pulling the flag from the opponents waistband was supposed to signify a tackle, but these junior and senior Lady Tigers were playing rough and often waited until after the real tackle to pull the flag! Go check out all of the Powder Puff game pictures (and of many other events and stories) on our Sabine County Reporter Facebook page.

Hornets shine in their toughest test

Body
How would anyone go about picking the Player of the Game for the Hornets Friday night, 56-28 win over a determined Kirbyville Wildcat team? Would you go with the offense, with three Smiths, McDaniel, Arrington, or Blake? Do you prefer defense, with White, Gordon, Rushing, or Williams? Special teams? Offensive line? Defensive line? What a problem to have.

Hornets tested by a bigger Kirbyville squad...

Body
Trevon McDaniel is just one of the Hornets with stellar stats already this season. Against a larger defense that was fast on their feet, he delivered yard after yard Friday night. Some big plays and some steady small gains, but his effort was tangible and despite several tough hits, he and his teammates kept getting back on their feet and putting in the work.

Tigers vs Tigers in season opener

Body

Ahhhhh. Can you feel it? The electricity in the air, the popping of the pads? Those sounds only mean one thing: it’s time for those Friday night lights to shine at full capacity, for its football time in Texas! The West Sabine Tigers hit the road to open their season versus the Tenaha Tigers, but with a little twist. Due to Mother Nature bringing us all much needed rain she overdid herself in Tenaha and the field was rendered unplayable, so this contest took place in Timpson on August 26.
