WS School Board discusses taxes at meeting

by Kenny Wick Sabine County Reporter A special meeting of the WSISD School Board was called on Thursday, August 4th, mostly to meet timeline protocols concerning school taxes. After calling the meeting to order and establishing a quorum was present by Board President Lisa Lane, pledges of allegiance to the American and Texas flags, the board got down to business at hand.

Tigers give back...

On Thursday, August 4th, the West Sabine Tigers gave back! Students from the football team, band, cheerleaders, FFA and more, gathered at the Sabine Area Career Center to organize in groups to give back to their community by picking up trash throughout the City of Pineland. Now that’s what I call Tiger Pride!

West Sabine Varsity cheer earned two spirit sticks while at their UCA Cheer Camp in July. Other team awards included Blue Ribbon in Game Day Performance, Blue Ribbon in Rally Routine and 2nd Place in Crowd leading.

Hornets Give Back...

Monday, Hemphill students gathered early with their directors and coaches, not to practice or prepare for the upcoming season, but instead to spend time in service to their school and community. Football, band, volleyball, cross country, twirlers and cheerleaders all pitched in to clean, pick up trash and help get Hornet Country clean and green for the year.
