Body Two members of the Hemphill Hornet Bass Club fishing the SETX Bass Tournament on Toledo Bend on February 18th, caught some nice fish. Kane Ross (pictured left) weighed in 2 fish for 4.96 lbs. while Sam Welch caught one 1 fish for 2.24 lbs.

Body The Bassmaster Elite Series Tournament returns to Toledo Bend February 22-25, 2024 at Cypress Bend Park. The nation’s top pros will open their 2024 season on one of the best bass lakes in the nation, as named in Bassmaster Magazine.

Body The West Sabine Lady Tigers cranked up their 2024 softball season this past week, opening with the Hemphill Lady Hornets on February 13. An early 5-0 deficit proved too much for the ladies to overcome as their comeback effort fell just short at 9-4.

Body Hemphill High School and Middle School art classes have had a busy and productive couple of months. November through January our art students took part in a little project that they nicknamed “Coffee and Community”.

Body Both West Sabine squads took on both their counterparts from San Augustine on January 30 and Chireno February 2(stats unavailable for both WS/Chireno games at press time).

Body Both Tiger squads saw action this week as inclement weather forced the contests with the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs to be moved to January 17 in Pineland.
