Cayson McBride gets on base the hard way vs. the Chester Yellowjackets March 15.

Fresh off of wins in Brookeland on March 12, both the Tiger and Lady Tiger squads looked to improve their standing as the ladies played host to Chireno March 13 as well as Chester March 15 while the Tigers hosted the Yellowjackets March 15 as well.

West Sabine teams competed in the Little Dribblers Regional tournament in Evadale and all 5 teams entered will advance to NATIONALS. .

The Brookeland Wildcats and Lady Cats had a mixed bag of results last week. The LadyCats hit their diamond first against the visiting West Sabine Lady Tigers and they jumped out to an early 4-0 lead through four innings as Paige Powell stymied the West Sabine sticks.

The Brookeland Wildcats, fresh off their deep basketball playoff run, tipped off their baseball season March 7 against the Arp Tigers. Brookeland would run into a tough customer in Cade Clibom, who would shut out the Cats 5-0, fanning seven in five innings work.

The Hemphill Hornets took on the Groveton Indians March 7 and jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning as Braeden Jordan and Elijah McFarland scored on an Anthony White single. They would tack on another tally in the second as Jeffrey Quinn scored on a Connor Fenley RBI single.

Both Tiger squads would welcome Burkeville to open district play this past week. It was ladies first as the Lady Tigers put the pedal to the metal early against the Lady Mustangs, using a 16 run first inning to ease to a 21-0 victory in three innings.

The 3rd Annual Brandon Belt Grand Slam Bass tournament (a 3 day fishing event) was held on Sam Rayburn this last weekend and ended with the Top 4 teams all finishing within 1 pound of each other!
