Fugitive captured: US Marshals bring in Edgar

Body
On Thursday, December 29, 2022 at or about 8:30pm, the United States Marshal’s Service, the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Parks Wildlife Game Wardens and representatives from the District Attorney’s Office for the First Judicial District of Texas arrested Matthew Hoy Edgar on his outstanding warrant for the murder of Livye Heathyr Lewis. Edgar, during his trail, for Lewis’ murder, in January of 2022 had voluntarily not returned for the remainder of the proceedings. The court issued an arrest warrant for Edgar which launched an investigation by the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshal’s Office. Both the Sheriff’s Office and Marshal Service have tirelessly followed up on leads provided by citizens and other law enforcement agencies. These leads encompassed Texas, Louisiana, Florida and several other states.
