When Matthew Edgar left the courtroom last Tuesday after formal sentencing, he was immediately taken to Huntsville for intake processing at the Byrd Unit of the Texas Department of Corrections. His information was added to the website for Texas Inmate Search on January 5th.

Swearing in ceremonies were held at the Courthouse on January 3rd for new and re-elected Sabine County officials starting new terms. James “Bubba” Lowe sworn into office by District Judge Jim Payne. The Sabine County Commissioners Court held it’s first meeting of the new year on Monday, January 9th, and after opening with a prayer and pledge to the flag, approved the minutes from the last meeting.
