Livye’s voice speaks out: Bass reacts to capture

Body
After we were contacted by Sabine County Sheriff’s office last night concerning the arrest of fugitive Matthew Edgar, we immediately began to reach out to Ms. Darci Bass, the mother of victim, Livye Heathyr Lewis. Bass had recently updated her cell phone number and our contact info was out of date. Gratefully, this morning, we were able to speak to her by phone and her reaction was one of both shock and relief.

Soup, Salad and Singing...

Body
Soup, Salad, and Song hosted by the Hemphill Methodist Church on December 14th is a years long tradition of providing a meal to the public in the spirit of Advent. Advent encompasses the four weeks leading up to Christmas and is part of the preparation of Christmas and the second coming of Christ. Lots of folks enjoyed the free meal to the public that included warm soups of all kinds, a bountiful salad with dressings and crackers, and lots of beautiful Christmas music in the background. Thank you to the Methodist Church for the fellowship, and the fine meal!
