Veteran’s Corner

Body
It has been my honor on more than one occasion to take part in flag folding ceremonies. While serving in the Marines, not much thought was given as to why the flag was folded the way it was. All I knew was that if it wasn't tight and right, we would hear about it. Then later in life as a member of the Sabine County Honor Guard, I participated in folding the flag to be given to the loved ones of the Veteran that has passed, where folding the flag for a comrade’s loved one was done out of honor and respect. It wasn't until recent that curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to know. I feel with the way the flag has been treated in the past, i would share what i have learned about the folds of the flag in hopes to educate and maybe enlighten people of what the flag truly represents.
