The Sabine County Commissioners Court held its regular meeting on Monday, February 27th and opened with prayer by Brother Troy Richardson and the pledge to the flag, followed by acceptance of previous meetings minutes. There was only one line item transfer for the County Clerks office and it was approved. There were no budget amendments, and all departmental reports were accepted and approved.

The University of Texas Board of Regents is placing all new diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies on hold until a thorough review of the existing policies can be made. The decision comes on the heels of a memo put forward by Governor Abbott’s Chief of Staff, Gardner Pate, directing state agencies under the Employee Retirement System to review their DEI programs.
