The Sabine County Commissioners Court held its regular meeting on Monday, May 8th, and after opening prayer and pledge to the flag, approved the previous meetings minutes. There were no budget amendments or line item transfers to consider.

The Sabine County Republican Party will have its monthly meeting on the 2nd Thursday, May 11th @ 6:30 pm at the Chamber of Commerce office in Hemphill. Spring cleaning Centerview Cemetery Association Meeting will hold their meeting at 10:00 AM and have our regular annual business meeting following with a fellowship meal.

The Pineland City Council met in a special called meeting on May 2. Their agenda was extremely light.

I was driving down the back-road, on my way to Sunday School. This is lovely country. Farms along the way have cows, horses or goats grazing in their fields. On my left, there was a bunch of cows of various colors, white, black and some beige looking ones. I noticed one that was different from any; I’d ever seen before. It was black, with a white stripe down its back. It was exactly the same size all the way across.
