By and By...

Body
To A Year Of Even Betters When my boys were very young, they got into their first squabble. Gray had just received Legos for his birthday and his younger brother wanted to help. As parents, we know how that “help” often goes. Big brother didn’t want it. Dane’s “help” ruined it. Tears ensued. In a split second, I realized I had to make this a teachable moment. Instead of punishing Dane for his good intentions or Gray for his justified frustrations, I told them that what we do one time can be done better a second time.

These changes are due to House Bill 3297. The bill was passed by the 88th Legislature and signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott in 2023, abolishing the Vehicle Safety Inspection Program for non-commercial vehicles.

FAVORITE HYMNS

Body
The New Testament in the Bible tells us that hymns were sung by Jesus and the disciples. The word “hymn” from the Greek language is “hymnos”, meaning “songs of praise”. Hymns are different from Psalms according to Ephesians 5:19. Other than that not much is known about Christian hymns during the first three centuries of the Church.

The Scale

Body
“It’s not what you eat between Christmas and New Year’s that counts, it’s what you eat between New Year’s and Christmas.” I’ve had this mantra in my head because my husband, Peter, and I have been trying to keep our weight in check. Peter is doing it for sensible reasons.
