Toys for Tots accepting Donations Across Lake Area Counties

Body
The Holiday season is getting in full swing. Planning the Thanksgiving meal and getting ready to put up the Christmas lights are on peoples minds all over Deep East Texas. Toys for Tots wants to remind everyone that being thankful for our blessings and generous to others during this wonderful time of the year has always been our tradition in Texas and across our great nation. This year the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign is also in full swing with a goal to reach every child in need with a message of hope and encouragement at this joyous time of year. This year the Sam Rayburn Lake area Toys for Tots Campaign is working hard to provide toys for San Augustine, Sabine Jasper and Shelby Counties. Cat Bennett the TFT Campaign Coordinator reported that because of an early donation of stuffed animals the local campaign is already distributing them to our campaign partners including to our CPS offices and Child Advocates. “We are also putting a few stuffed animals under the care of our Deep East Texas Law enforcement Officers. Every year our Officers respond traumatic situations where children are involved and a stuffed animal can help ease a child’s anxiety” Cat recently delivered some fur babies to Officer Todd Zergerle for the San Augustine Sheriffs Department and has plans to offer them across the four County Lake area Communities.
