Fiddlers Frolics...

Luke Moody had a great weekend at the Texas State Championship Fiddlers Frolics in Hallettsville! Luke placed 2nd in his division. He received a beautiful fiddle generously donated by the talented Bryan Duckworth. Special thanks to everyone that supported and volunteered to make this a fantastic contest! He also got to meet up with our friends from the Texas Fiddle Clinic. We appreciate their ongoing support and kindness they have shown Luke.

Sabine County Reporter has been authorized to announce the candidacies of the below named persons for the offices named subject to action in the May 3, 2025 elections. The announcement fee (which must be paid in advance) includes a statement and photograph to run one time. Fees are $125. The name on the calendar runs each week until the election.

A huge Sabine County Shout Out to Chandler Martin. She is the Year End Barrel Racing Champion and Straight Away Champion in the 6 and Under Central Texas Youth Rodeo Association. She won 6 belt buckles, two saddles and that pretty purple golf cart pictured above. Her horses are War Paint and Bernie and she also earned All Around Cowgirl for her age group! Way to go Champ Chan!

New and updated property tax information has just been compiled by the Sabine County Appraisal District and is available now to assist taxpayers. This property tax information is current and covers a wide range of topics, such as taxpayer remedies, exemptions and appraisals, and has information for select groups, such as disabled veterans and persons age 65 or older.

Havana Kincel graduated from Hemphill High School she started her first year of running in the LRCA Pro circuit at 19 and just won the Hemphill rodeo she is on the rodeo trail with hopes to make it big in the rodeo industry and shine light on the little town of Hemphill.
