Pet Talk

Body
Dogs are naturally curious creatures, often using their noses and mouths to explore the world around them. Because they are drawn to strong scents and sudden movements, toads — with their unpredictable hops, distinct smells, and occasional croaks — can be an irresistible attraction. However, what starts as innocent curiosity can take a dangerous turn if the toad happens to be toxic.

Hemphill Church of Christ

Body
I am talking about our devotion to the Worship and praise we give to God each and every Lord's day. Do you remember when you were converted? Do you remember when you repented of your sins, confessed your faith in Christ Jesus and were baptized for the remission of your sins; added to the body of Christ by God? Do you remember the joy and happiness you felt on that day?

Growing stronger in faith

Body
We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly. (2 Thess. 1:3) When we truly hear the gospel, the seed of God’s Word finds the soil of our heart and faith is released. If that faith is enough to make you a new creation and translate you from the power of darkness into the Kingdom of God, then it should be enough to believe and receive all of God’s promises as well.

Babies of Value!

Body
I sat down at my computer and opened a card program. My great granddaughter, would be born in May. I could not go to the baby shower. She lives in North Carolina. So, I would make her a special card and send some money, with it. I wanted it to be pretty and very special.

Welcome Integrity: TRUST

Body
I am most humbled by Moses’ story about the preparations of the Israelites to enter the promised land. Given specific directions on how to live, at the celebration of the second Passover (when they were freed as slaves from Egypt), God assigned Moses and his brother Aaron to take a census, to make the people ready for the journey, both spiritually and physically.

TFA, which has been active since 1914, has members in a variety of fields including logging, consulting, conservation, planting, and prescribed burning. We were proud to have this group (including Smokey the Bear) join us for a day at the Capitol!

Honky Tonk Angels...

Body
You must go see the Hemphlll Little Theatre’s musical hit this weekend. The ladies onstage are out of this world! Rebecca Waters, Shanta Horton, Erin Watson and Cathy Ladner will wow you with their singing talents. And being a Texas country girl, I sang along to every song! All of the music is live and when I say the talent that our county is blessed with will blow your mind, I’m not kidding. Pictured below were two of the standouts during the live performance. Ky Norwood on fiddle and Rusty Collings on harmonica. You can’t find a better date night. Call your girlfriends, your mom or get your sweetie pie off the couch and get to the Hemphill Little Theatre! Trust me, it’s a winner.

Body
At this weekend’s dedication of the Gaines-Oliphint House, local historian Weldon Mc-Daniel detailed the history of the house, including dates of contruction, owners and even a cool connection to the Alamo. More information in next week’s edtion as well as our website. If you ever get the chance to stob by the History Center and visit with McDaniel, one of Texas’ greatest treasures, don’t pass up the opportunity.
