Room for improvement...

If you look in at the final score and the number of points the Hornets have put up against opponents this season you can’t help but be proud of all they have accomplished. There is definitely something about this team that is special. However, Friday night revealed several areas that will need to be cleaned up before Hemphill enters the post season. Too many penalties are occurring and at times we were down right sloppy. Improvements are coming, you can count on that.

Hemphill and West Sabine announce court royalty

Friday night lights had a little extra sparkle this past week as Hemphill High and West Sabine held their court festivities and crownings. For the Hornets, Yenni Flores (pictured left with escort and Band Beau Reagan Wall) was crowned Queen of the Swarm as well as being honored as Band Sweetheart. Tiger Stadium was full for their coronation as well. Announced as king was Chase Williams Homecoming Queen was Anna Mouton. October is set apart as awaremess month for Domestic Violence and Breast Cancer. Sabine County Reporter is partnering with local businesses for a Save the Boobie Bingo and Fall Fashion Show to raise awareness and funds for our community. Sabine County Hospital will have information aboutt woments health and the Family Crisis Center of East Texas will also be there with great information to help educate our community on survivng domestic violence. Saturday, Oct. 1 at the VFW. Doors open at 5 pm. and you won’t want to miss this inaugural event.

Rosevine United Pentecostal Church will be continuing with revival with Bro. Heath Travis. Services begin Thurs., Sept. 29 Sun., Oct. 2. Weeknight services begin at 7:00 PM, Sun. mornings begin at 10:00 AM, and Sunday evenings begin at 6:30 PM.
