Hornets look good against Newton

Tuesday night was senior night for the Hemphill Hornets. Seniors were: Kameron Arrington, Bo Conn, Remington Ross, Tayvion Williams, and Reagan Wall. The Hornets went up against Newton. The pitcher for the evening was Braeden Jordon. Jordan did not allow the Eagles to make a single run. Hemphill runs were made by Bo Conn, Jackson Mitchell, Remington Ross, and Elijah McFarland. The Hornets did not make a single error the whole game. Kameron Arrington was the lead in hits for the game. The final score was Hemphill: 4, Newton: 0.

Monday was technically the first day of Spring even if it did dip into the 20s for much of Sabine County overnight. With flowers blooming, we began to anticipate some of our favorite moments of the season. The Small Town, Big Faith edition featuring Easter and Resurrection service info, as well as highlights for local churches will be printed April 5. Huge news for Sabine: SRA Developing Sabinetown Park

The Sabine River Authority of Texas (SRA) recently completed acquisition of property at the mouth of Palo Gaucho Bayou in the mid‐lake area of Toledo Bend Reservoir for development of a “World Class” fishing tournament venue and park. SRA plans to construct a new park facility that can attract and host professional fishing tournaments, increase recreational opportunities, and improve boating access. The new facility is part of SRA’s economic development program to enhance recreational opportunities throughout the Sabine River Basin, fulfilling SRA’s commitment to assist in the development of the basin.
