Body Texas communities at risk of wildfires can now apply for a federal grant administered by Texas A&M Forest Service. Available funding is intended to help at-risk communities plan for and reduce the risk of wildfire.

Body The Huffman Library hosted a 5 day long Summer Reading 2023 for kindergarten through 4th grade level kids, made possible by many local donors. On the 5th and final day, the kiddos enjoyed a lunch of pizza and chicken strips.

Body Wilderness areas are sensitive in nature with very specific tactics and strategies required when mitigating activity, such as a wildfire within its boundaries. Mechanical equipment and aircraft are not generally permitted in these areas as set forth by the Wilderness Act of 1964.

Body VFW Post 10351 BINGO is held each Thursday. Card sales start at 5:30 p.m.

Body Students from Kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to participate in a Smokey Bear Poster contest to help celebrate his 80th birthday. Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of wildfire prevention through their original artwork of Smokey Bear.
