CLARA’S CULINARY CALAMITIES

Body
When we were married in 1958 Clara knew nothing about cooking. Since I knew a lot about eating she made it her mission to learn all about preparing food fit for a king. I knew she must have thought of me as a king because she was always presenting me with burnt offerings. My, how things have changed over the years. Pet Talk

Body
While Spider-Man may have developed superhuman abilities from a spider bite, our pets are not likely to start slinging webs or crawling up the walls if bitten by an arachnid. Spiders tend to be active in late summer and early fall, leading to more unwanted encounters for our curious pets.

Welcome Integrity: Sanity

Body
Time is a measured event. How we choose to spend it defines our reality. Occurrences happen and we respond mindfully or instinctively and sometimes irresponsibly. Our souls long for eventfulnesses to lift us to our feet, to take us to our best performance even in thinly slicing a loaf of bread.

The Power of Wisdom

Body
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. (Col 3:16) I recently was reminiscing and wishing I could relive certain parts of my life with the wisdom I have today. What would it have been like to go to high school with the accumulated wisdom of 50 years in the Lord? As I moved through the years in my mind I could identify certain events in which I wished I knew then what I know now. I’m sure most of you feel the same. How many negative situations could we have avoided if we had just been wiser?

Deep Clean

Body
I took a sip of my morning coffee. Yuck! It didn’t taste good. What was wrong? Had the water company treated the water? Was my taste off? Maybe my allergies were making it taste bad. I couldn’t figure it out.

VFW support the families of our servicemen and women now serving

Body
Shortly after World War I, the Gold Star Mothers' Club was formed in the United States to provide support for mothers that lost sons or daughters in the war. The name came from the custom of families of servicemen hanging a banner called a Service Flag in the window of their homes. The Service Flag had a star for each family member in the military. Living servicemen were represented by a blue star, and those who had lost their lives were represented by a gold star. On the last Sunday of September, Gold Star Mother's Day is observed in the U.S. in their honor.

By and By...

Body
A compilation of travel adventures and misadventures by Dana Gordy “The universe is wider than our perception of it.” Henry David Thoreau Why has it taken me 56 years to figure out how awesome a week alone in nature is? It’s bluebirds, chipmunks, deer, and bugling elk if you’re in the Rockies. It’s my fourth time camping alone in the past year, but my first time for four nights so far from home.
