The 2023 home schedule kicked off for both West Sabine squads on January 6 versus longtime rival San Augustine. The ladies hit the court first, and both squads started off ice cold from the field as San Augustine would lead 5-4 after one and 12-8 at halftime.

Without a doubt the Hornets are impressive on offense, but their defense kept Central out of reach most of the game. .
