The Hornets started strong last week. They began their competition on Wednesday against the Newton Eagles. Although the game had to be changed from Tuesday to Wednesday due to inclement weather, the Hornets came out fighting.

Both Tiger squads saw action last week as they traveled to Woden January 24 before returning home to host Broaddus January 27. The contest against Woden saw the ladies avenge an earlier 57-28 home loss to the Lady Eagles with a gritty, hard fought 44-39 victory.

Coming home off of a bag of mixed results in Corrigan-Camden January 17, the Tiger squads played host to Colmesneil to tip off the second round of district play. The ladies hit the court first, getting off to a hot start as they ended the first quarter with a 13-3 lead.

The crowd was there to support the Hemphill Hornets and Lady Hornets on Friday night. The Little Green Band was playing, the cheerleaders were chanting, and the fans were letting the players know who they were rooting for. Hemphill truly showed up with passion for their school.
