Body The Community fishing team 'East Texas Thunder' won the Deep East Texas fifth qualifier of the season on January 28th at Jackson Hill Marina. Zane Parker and Collin Foley along with 83 other teams were given the Cold Shoulder by Mother Nature.

Body Today is a great day to point out that the Kansas City Chiefs were founded by Lamar Hunt, son of legendary Texas oilman H.L. Hunt and that the term 'Super Bowl' was created by him.

Body The Hemphill Hornets had a busy week. The week started with senior night on Tuesday, and we congratulate all the seniors on their achievements. The Lady Hornets took on Central Heights in the final game of the season.

Body The Corrigan Camden Bulldogs looked every bit the district champions that they were February 10 in Pineland as they jumped all over the home standing Tigers early and never let up. They popped the nets for 29 points in the first to have a 29-8 lead after one.

Body On Friday, February 3rd the Hemphill Little Green Band participated in the Region 21 UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition at Nacogdoches, TX in Nacogdoches High School. 27 students prepared solos or participated in small ensembles and performed for a rating in front of a judge.

Body The Hemphill Lady Hornets began the week off challenging Central Pollock on Tuesday night. The top scorer for the evening was Gay with 8 points. Followed by Williams with 6, Price with 5, Strother with 3, and Welch with 2.
