The Second Marshmallow

Body
You’ve probably heard about the Stanford marshmallow test. A group of young children, about four years old, were told they could have a marshmallow right now or wait and get a second marshmallow. The experiment was supposed to test the child’s ability to delay gratification and be a predictor of how well they would do in the future.

The number of adults aged 65 and older is growing, and older adults are at higher risk for social isolation and loneliness due to changes in health and social connections that can come with growing older, according to the National Institute On Aging. The companionship of a wagging tail or a soft purr, however, can enrich the lives of older adults. Welcome Integrity: COMMANDS

Hearing the same story a second time is received “differently.” The fifth book of the Bible, Deuteronomy, means second law or repeated law. Moses wrote most of the book except for the end as it is credited to Joshua who ultimately led the Israelites to the Promised Land. This book completes the Torah which means “instruction.”

Mistakes can be costly!

Body
I drove up my driveway and started into the carport. I had picked up a few things for a friend. She would come by for them, later. I wanted to get over, as far as I could. That would make it easier, for her to reach them. As I hugged the post; I heard a crunch and felt a scrape. Oh, no! I had gotten too close, to the post. I had hit it and bent my car. Why hadn’t I been more cautious? I had been so careful to keep my car, in good shape. Now, I had messed it up. I felt so bad. I wish I could do this over. I would make sure; it didn’t happen. But, it was already done and I would have to live with the results.
