Sleep in Heavenly Peace serves Sabine

Body
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a nationwide Non-Profit organization, with a 100% volunteer local chapter located in Woodville, Texas, and their motto is No Kid Sleeps ON The Floor In Our Town. Like most charities, Sleep in Heavenly Peace had it’s start up in a garage. It was 2012, Christmas time in Kimberley, Idaho, a time of joy, hope, and giving, but bitterly cold. The project was to build a bed for a single family in need, but then when wondering what to do with the left over wood, the idea sprang into being….how many other families could benefit from such a gift as a bed.

Guess who’s back...

Body
Mr. Joe Singleton stopped by the office on Monday to express his gratitude to all that have checked on him, prayed for him and cared for him since his time in Legacies and home recovery. “Everyone has been so kind and it means so much to me. My church home, Thomas Johnson Church of Christ and the pastor and family at The Refuge Church in Miliam, thank you for your prayers and help. I am back and feeling good. And I MADE IT TO 85!” Mr. Joe definitely brightens up any day and we celebrated his birthday with an old-fashioned banana pudding - complete with meringue! You can also see Mr. Joe on Tuesdays while he is delivering the local paper route for The Reporter. Reporter photo by Johanna Vickers

Lutheår “Red” Davis inurned in Arlington National Cemetery

Body
I imagine my friend Red spent some time dancing on air up in Gloryland this weekend. Saturday morning, at 11 a.m. his remains were inurned with high honors at Arlington National Cemetery. For a serviceman in the United Sates Armed Forces, being laid to rest there, with so many of your brothers and sisters in arms, is a crowning acheivement for a blessed life of service.
