He's Free: Houston Lawyer posts $1 million dollars to get out of jail after killing his son in Sabine County

#UPDATE Michael C. Howard is out of jail today, just one week after confessing that he shot his 20-year-old son and burned his body.

December 9, 2024, Howard went before Judge Mixon in Sabine County where his bond was lowered from $20 Million ($10 million for each charge) to $1 million total. According to court documents: $750K for Murder and $250K for Tampering with Evidence/Corpse

The Sabine County Commissioners Court held their meeting on November 27th, and after opening prayer and pledge to the flag, approved the minutes from the last meeting. There were no line item-transfers or budget amendments to consider, but approval was given to all departmental reports.

LUFKIN DISTRICT SET TO BEGIN LARGEST PROJECT YET

A pre-construction meeting was held Monday at the Lufkin District Office, signaling the start of an 8-year construction project that will be the largest project to date for the district. Engineers, contractors, utility company representatives, consultants and other interested parties met to discuss the pending construction.
