VA’s Veterans Canteen Service is serving free breakfast combo meals and free Starbucks tall coffee the morning of Nov. 9 at PatriotCafés and PatriotBrews.

At 8:05 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, Cindy Hogan Edgar, 51, walked into the Sabine County Sheriff’s office and turned herself in. When our office was first tipped off about this happening, I shook my head and went back to work. It was nearly 9:30 a.m. and our internet had been down, so my Monday was already behind. When my reporter, Kenny Wick brought in the arrest report for the week, the first thing I asked was, “Is Cindy Hogan on that record?” His reply, “Nope, I don’t see her.” By now it’s after 10:30 a.m. and I assumed since we had heard nothing officially otherwise, that my source must have been mistaken. After all, it had been ten months since Matthew Edgar had been taken into custody, and although the public was told there was an investigation into anyone helping Edgar and hiding him, no one could get any information other than the Texas Rangers were in charge and all inquiries were forwarded to that agency.

The biggest and best Milam Settlers Weekend ever will be held in Milam,Texas, on November 17th. And 18th. at El Camino Park. The two-day event will mark the 31st. anniversary of the popular Milam Settlers Day Festival. Fun and activities for the whole family will be the order for the weekend.
