Artist Hudson to ‘Splash the Hippocampus’ in Angelina Gallery

Brandon Hudson has found a rather unique way of connecting the past with the present. He does it with his art. The native Texan and artist takes old slides – yes, those ancient forms of Power Point – art professors once used for instructional purposes and adds his own touch to convert those old prints into painted canvas.

Steven Gonzales is the Executive Director of the El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail Association. the El Camino Real traverses all of Texas, and Mr. Gonzales will share tales and plans for activities along the Trail.

Today each kid got a chance to talk to an EMT and walk through the ambulance! Most of the kids that came through, had the same excitement and “wow” look on their face! For some, this wasn’t the case, but we’ll try again next year!Thank you Sabine County Emergency Medical Services for coming out to show us around and teach the kiddos what to do in case of an emergency. You are appreciated and we thank you for what you do for our community!

Master Gardener Seminar...

The Sabine County Master Gardeners were honored to host a successful seminar this past weekend “It’s Fall Y’all with topics including Fall gardening, poisonous plant identification, extending your growing season and native flower landscaping. Be on the lookout for their next seminar coming in January! The master gardeners will be selling vegetable plants this Saturday only at the Farmer’s Market 8am to noon. 2 for $5!

After 34 years in practice as Hemphill’s favorite optometrist, Dr. Gary Golden has closed his practice and will be joining his brother, Dr. Dixon Golden at Texas State Optical in Nacogdoches two days a week. Dr. Gary will be driving back and forth on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for appointments and he and his wife, Jeanette, will maintain their Hemphill residency. Dr. Golden would like to recognize longtime office manager Joann Beasley for her service and dedication over the years, “She became family to all of us, and this move is bitter sweet for us.

Rosevine United Pentecostal Church will be continuing REVIVAL with Bro. Gentry Jordan. Services will begin Thursday, September 19 through Sunday, September 22. Weeknight services begin at 7:00 PM. Sunday Mornings begin at 10:00 AM and Sunday Evenings begin at 6:30 PM. Our church is located just off Hwy 103 at 8285 Gravelhill Rd, Bronson, in the Rosevine community, pastored by Rev.
