Henry Annette Conner, 78, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill. She was born in Carthage, on August 15, 1944 to Marcy Aaron Collins and Unibell Hamilton Collins. She lived in Carthage until the age of two when her family then moved to Sabine County. Over the years, she worked for the Sabine County Clerks Office and for Sabine County Hospital. She was a member of Strickland Crossing Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, cooking and always making those around her laugh.

Alisa Legae Barnett, 51, of Pineland, Texas passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was born in Nacogdoches, on October 26, 1971 to James Landy Barnett, Jr. and Reba Jean Clark Barnett. She graduated from Hemphill High School with the Class of 1990. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from East Texas Baptist University.

Mozell Byley, 84, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on May 8, 1938 in Hemphill to Hubert Henry West and Minnie Herrin West. She was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and a member of East Mayfield Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and all kinds of plants. She also loved her birds and poodles.

Lee Roy Ebarb

Lee Roy Ebarb, 82, of Bronson, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Hemphill, on October 16, 1940 to Rex Ebarb and Viola Woodard Ebarb. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Hemphill and had worked as a logger in the timber industry for many years. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family and liked to read Louis Lamour western books. He loved the Lord and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. He also loved being outdoors gardening, working on his lawnmowers and his bird watching.

Billy Moran Wise

Billy Moran Wise, 82, of Milam, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at his home. He was born on May 28, 1940 on the Sabine River at Moran Crossing in Sabine County to Robert John Wise and Melissa Ardell Neal Wise. He was a lifetime resident of Sabine County and worked as a welder most of his life. He was a hard worker and loved people. He enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever he had time. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Carol Glenda Wise; son, Robert Glenn Wise; and brothers, Bobby Joe Wise and J. T. Wise.

Martha Milstead Lindsey

Martha Milstead Lindsey, age 78, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born August 28, 1944, in San Augustine County to parents Bud and Tilma (Butler) Milstead and was a lifelong area resident. After graduating from San Augustine High School, she then attended Stephen F. Austin State University where she received her Masters degree in Education. She graduated from SFA in 1965 and later that year began her impressive career in education at West Sabine High School in Pineland. She was a beloved and respected member of the West Sabine faculty for 43 years before retirement.
