Willie Ray Horne

Willie Ray Horne, 95, of San Augustine passed away Friday, May 24, 2024. He was born March 23, 1929, in Sabine County to parents Margarette Thanie 'Dink' (Jones) and Willie Vessie Horne. He was a longtime San Augustine resident and retired from TxDOT in 1993 with 42 years of service. Willie Ray proudly served his country and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Horne had a great passion for hunting and fishing, as well as sports. He loved his family and was the greatest fan and supporter of them in their games. He usually had the best seat in the house, often working the chain at the football game, or coaching or umpiring.

Jerry Wayne Dunnagan

Jerry Wayne Dunnagan, 83, of Hemphill, passed away on May 21, 2024. He was born on January 19, 1941, in Binger, Oklahoma, to Melburn Bennie Dunnagan and Agnes Cleghorn Dunnagan. Jerry had a remarkable career path. After graduating from Prairie Grove High School, he bravely entered the United States Navy and served aboard the submarine, the USS Sabalo. Following his military service, Jerry worked various construction jobs before finding his niche at Sinclair and Arco Pipeline.

Lydia Kaytelin Davis, 24, of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, passed away on May 13, 2024. She was born on August 31, 1999, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Lydia was a spotter/operator in the construction industry and had a passion for her work. She was a 21-year resident of Bronson, previously living in Norfork, Arkansas. Lydia adored her dogs, Cowboy, Rip, and June, and cherished traveling with her work family. She found joy in spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Fishing and hunting were among her favorite hobbies.

Hunter Raven Buster

Hunter Raven Buster, 22, of Pineland, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, in Houston,. He was born on September 5, 2001, in Lufkin, to Norman Randall Buster and Cindy Ann Worthy Crow. Hunter was a lifetime resident of Pineland and worked as a laborer in construction. He was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Pineland. Hunter enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and playing computer games, with Dungeons and Dragons being his favorite.

Roy Glenn Odom, Sr.

Roy Glenn Odom, Sr. of Gravelhill, was born November 22, 1947, in Lufkin. On May 17, 2024, his spirit left his body, went to the rainbow bridge where he took the reins of his TWH stallion, Shades By Tullos. Followed by his boxer dog, Duncan, they did a head shaking running walk to the pearly gates. Roy started first grade at Beech Grove School in Curtis. There he got his first whipping from Mrs. Rice when he told her she was not his momma and could not tell him what to do. He attended seven different schools in second grade. His daddy worked pipeline. He was in and out of Beech Grove until 1963 when they moved back to Jasper. He graduated Jasper High School in 1966. He worked on Toledo and Livingston Dams as they were being built.

Billie Barbara Smith

Billie Barbara Smith, 77, of Galveston, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. She was born on September 12, 1946, in Nacogdoches, to the late Walter and Ivy Mae Shelton. Formerly of Beaumont, she had resided in Port Neches, since 1995. Billie had worked as Payroll Clerk for the Port of Beaumont. She was a member of Amelia Baptist Church and the Red Hat Ladies. She is survived by her sons, Casey Smith of Kountze and Curtis Smith of Friendswood, and her grandchildren, Roman Smith and Maxim Smith. Services are pending at this time.

William Nolan Brown

William Nolan 'Bill' Brown, 66, of Pineland, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024. He was born on May 8, 1958, in Houston, to J. C. Brown and Helen Oleta Gray Brown. Bill, was a lifetime resident of Sabine County and an active member of the Pineland community. He was a Project Manager for Matrix Service Company and a member of the Boiler Maker's Union, traveling for 47 years before retiring. He worshiped at the Little Flock Baptist Church and enjoyed camping and spending time with friends and family. Bill cherished his wife, children and grandchildren.
