Michael Howard Stewart, aged 71, of Hemphill, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in Conroe. Born on March 28, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he was the son of Alfred Clyde Stewart, Jr. and Virginia Lee Bailey Stewart. Michael spent his early life in Oklahoma before making Texas his long-term home. A proud veteran, Michael served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, a period that shaped much of his later life and values. After his military service, he dedicated many years to servicing airplanes at Hobby Airport.

Michael was an outdoorsman who cherished spending much of his free time fishing, camping, and hunting. These activities brought him great joy and peace, connecting him deeply with the landscapes he loved.

He is survived by his brother, Alfred Clyde Stewart III of Hemphill; and sister, Linda Ferrell and her husband, James of Bedias. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Robbie Dean 'Dink' Stewart.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at King Cemetery, officiated by Bro. Floyd Wright and under the direction of Starr Funeral Home, located in Hemphill, Texas.
