Body The Hemphill Pre’K class put together a Down on Grandpa’s Farm to present to all their families. The teachers really out did themselves with all of the kids.

Body CASA of the Sabine Neches Region held a vigil on the Courthouse lawn on Thursday, April 20th in honor of the children who have suffered child abuse. There were 182 pinwheels, one for each abused child in the state of Texas.

Body Mother Nature once again showed us who was the boss this past week, as seemingly never ending thunderstorms washed out all but one of the baseball and softball games for West Sabine. The Tigers will now play a doubleheader April 21 against San Augustine in Pineland.

Body The Lady Hornets experienced a tremendous comeback Tuesday night, but would ultimately fall short in extra innings.

Body West Sabine FFA attended Pinewoods SWCD woodlands contest today! Barely beating out the rain. Team members Briley Rogers, Dustin Welch, Hannah McElhaney, and Lucas Burrow. Placing first in district. Briley rogers being the high point individual!

Body Drelyn “Dre” M. Washington, Hemphill alum, was awarded the Offensive Back Award for the Ragin’ Cajuns this season.

Body Congratulations to the Hemphill High School Little Green Band. They traveled to Longview Wednesday for UIL Stage and Sightreading Contest and brought back a huge sweepstakes trophy, continuing a tradition of excellence within the program.

Body The final tournament of the year was the best one yet! All of the Hornet teams brought in fish and most with limits. Sam Rayburn was good to them! Taking 1st place and Big Bass went to Senior Alyssa Corley and Brenna Corley! Their total weight for 5 fish was12.

Body The West Sabine ISD Administrators, Faculty, and Staff are proud to announce that our 3rd Grade Teacher, Ms. Melissa Lane has been selected to receive the prestigious Gilbert I. 'Buddy' Low Teacher of Excellence Award for 2023.
