Hemphill Church of Christ

Body
Upon leaving home, a mother gave her son a Bible with these words written on the flyleaf: “This little Book will keep you from sin, and nothing but sin will keep you from this little Book.” The Bible teaches that “David hid God’s Word in his heart that he might not sin” (Psalm 119:11). During periods of oppression Bibles have been hidden in loaves of bread and in pillows.

The Magic of Licorice

Body
I must admit that I love the taste of licorice. I always have. Now I know that most people don’t, and it is difficult to find any who can “take it or leave it”. You either love it or hate it. My wife is in the latter category. I have had to limit my intake of the sweet, black, chewy delicacy since our marriage.

Pet Talk

Body
People may choose to eat foods past their expiration date, as long as the food looks and smells good, but that doesn't mean this practice is safe for pet food. Ensuring pet food is suitable to eat is the first step to preventing your dog or cat from becoming ill.

A full day and night in Sabine County...

Body
From dawn’s early light until well after sundown, Saturday offered a jam-packed day of activities for those attending the first Patriotic Weekend on Toledo Bend. Pic 1, Pineywoods Vineyard joined Hemphill Yoga for Froze and a morning class followed by (Pic 2) Hemphill Flower Shop setting up inside the yoga studio for a lovely floral design class. Sabeans Coffee and Creamery was not only a Poker Run Punch participant, they also had activities on the square for the kids (pic 3). Vendors filled the courthouse lawn and provided goodies and raffles to boot. Two of our favorites pictured 4 and 5- Pineywoods Cookie Co. and Hemphill Lion’s Club. The Boat parade (pic 6) was a great succes with more than 50 boats.
