Bass HS Nationals...
Body
The 2023 Bassmaster high School National Championship on Lake Hartwell in South Carolina has come to an end, and even though Hunter Hightower and Jake Bennett of Brookeland ISD have never fished Lake Hartwell, they did very well finishing 69th out of 481 teams. Their amazing boat captain, Ryan Hightower, has been an important part of the boys success. Their fan club is very proud of them and would like to thank everyone who helped them get to the Nationals via donations, fundraisers and support from family and friends, and appreciate all the calls and texts from their supporters! Congratulations to Hunter and Jake! Christian Williamson and Hunter Murphy of West Sabine ISD finished in 375th place, and Rayburn McClelland and Levi Brown of West Sabine ISD finished in 462nd place. It takes a lot of hard work and determination from not only these young anglers, but from boat captains, friends, family, and sponsors, for these kids to earn the opportunity to compete on the national level, as just getting there is a major accomplishment. Congratulations to all of them!
