He's Free: Houston Lawyer posts $1 million dollars to get out of jail after killing his son in Sabine County

#UPDATE Michael C. Howard is out of jail today, just one week after confessing that he shot his 20-year-old son and burned his body. December 9, 2024, Howard went before Judge Mixon in Sabine County where his bond was lowered from $20 Million ($10 million for each charge) to $1 million total.

City of Hemphill Awarded...

The City of Hemphill was awarded a $20,000 SRA Community Assistance Program Grant for the 2nd Qtr of 2025. The award presentation took place 4/22/2025 at city hall. Tom Beall, Don Iles, and Zach Johnson represented SRA and presented the grant check to Mayor Stephen Crowell.

Sabine County Sheriff George Griffith During the overnight hours, Sabine County Sheriff’s Deputies were patrolling the southern end of the county in the Brookeland, Texas vicinity. Deputies observed a vehicle crossing the white fog line while traveling North on US 96 at FM 149.
