Chamber announces 2025 Events planned for New Year

Body
The first meeting of the year was a jam-packed one as new president, Sherri Jones called the meeting to order and called on Shorty Warren to lead in the invocation and pledge. She then introduced the guest speaker, Vanelian Nakagawa- US Army Recruiting Division. She is an operations officer origanlly from Brazil and she shared how serving the United States has changed her life and that of her family. After serving in Afghanistan in 2015, facing ISIS attacks and defending her country, Nakagawa was more certain than ever. Her purpose is to prepare others to take up the mantle and protect and serve the Red, White and Blue. She also spoke of her thankfulness. Her eductionthree Associate’s degrees, a Bachelor’s and a Masters were all completed thanks to the benefits and programs offered to military servants.

At Home With Felix

Body
It’s been a big year for our cat, Felix. Sometime in late 2023, Felix was scooped up off the street in Mexico by a teenager and brought to the home of her mother and aunt. I’m not sure how he was received when he arrived. They already had 11 dogs, at least a couple of cats and several birds. They gave him food and a home, and I imagine the teenager, Daniela, thought that the fostering arrangement would eventually become permanent.

Welcome Integrity: Altars

Body
Altars altered my life. They were created in honor of God and as a personal reminder to go there first in gratitude to God. They differ. They are present in the house of God and the symbolisms vary according to the changes made by humans through the ages. In fact, the raised platforms were used for sacrifices, and God knows even better than we do the misconceptions, the wrongs of humans trapped by demonic beliefs. What purpose do they serve for us Christians?
