The Sabine County Chamber of Commerce meeting took place on Tuesday, February 11th, at the Feed Store Café. After the Pledge of Allegiance and opening prayers, the meeting quickly got underway with Frank Torres, the recently appointed Chamber Board Treasurer. He reported the committee's expenses for the month, as well as those expected for March, and provided an update on the board's pending audit, which had been quoted at $250 by Circle T Accounting for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Additionally, an extra $50 fee was discussed for monthly bookkeeping services, which would include a submitted monthly report. Matt Stewart then took center stage as the meeting's guest speaker, highlighting the upcoming Toledo Bend Bass Series tournaments. The first of eight tournaments will take place on February 22nd at Pendleton Park Bridge, followed by a two-day championship in September. With a $180 entry fee, this series will not include professional anglers or guides. However, it will feature a no-livescope tournament day, as well as polygraph testing to prevent cheating.
