It was another busy week around the Sabine County diamonds so let’s get started! The Brookeland Wildcats took two tough losses this week, one to the state ranked Chester Yellowjackets 8-7 on April 6 and 4-3 to Apple Springs on April 10. The LadyCats had an up and down week as they would soundly defeat Chester 14-1 on April 7 in a game that not only saw Caylee Morgan launch a grand slam but Paige Powell notch her 300th career strikeout as well.

Three years ago, I was in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, walking through what had once been a large fabric mill. It has since been turned into an art gallery called, appropriately, La Fabrica, where artists of all kinds lease space to show their work. There are always people and art and dogs, and flowers blooming and banners flying, making this former mill one of the liveliest places in town.
