I spent last week with my parents, which is always fun. My father has been having trouble with his legs, and tasks that involve getting up from the ground are hard for him, particularly if the ground is steep or slippery—and that is a pretty accurate description of the shoreline where the dock lives over the winter.

Hello everyone! It’s time once again to peel the onion that is my psyche and peer into some Deep Musings From the Shallow End! As I sit here Sunday night my mind goes to several different destinations, contemplating the meaning of this thing we call life. While my favorite literary character Arthur Dent in the classic Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy never could get the hang of Thursdays, it’s Tuesday I can’t figure out.

Jerry Black, the Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District No. 19 presented the award which recognizes over seven decades of dedication, loyalty, and service to Freemasonry and to his Lodge.

Sabine County Establishes Temporary Emergency Communications Following Tower Collapse; Rebuild Underway

Sabine County emergency officials are moving forward with a three-phase recovery plan to rebuild a critical communications tower in the western portion of the county after a severe storm on May 23 completely crippled radio networks for first responders. The tower, located on Whitehead Road near FM 2426 (Yellow Pine-Pineland Road), sustained devastating damage during a high-wind weather event.
