Landon Smith, Brookeland High School Senior #11 in Basketball once again got District MVP, All Region and All State. He had over 3,000 points in his high school career. He will play in the All-Star Basketball game in San Antonio, Thursday May 07, 2026. He did all that while taking college courses.

Lake Area Cruisers give back to the community once again. The Sabine County Commissioners Court met in regular session on Monday, April 13, 2026, addressing a packed agenda ranging from critical cybersecurity infrastructure to local community events. Sabine County Hospital is pleased to announce the installation of a new United Imaging 80-slice CT (computed tomography) scanner, a significant upgrade that replaces the hospital's aging 16-slice unit. The new technology delivers faster, sharper imaging and dramatically improved CT angiography studies, strengthening the hospital's ability to provide high-quality diagnostic care close to home for patients across Sabine County and the surrounding region.

A workforce training initiative in Pineland is gaining momentum as local leaders and regional partners work to expand opportunities for commercial driver training in Sabine County and surrounding areas.
