Sabine County VFW Busy Veterans and Community

It has been a busy and meaningful week for the members of Sabine County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10351, as local veterans continued their mission of service through community outreach, leadership transitions and upcoming events honoring those who served. One of the largest efforts this week was Veterans Stand Down 2026, hosted Friday at the Sabine County VFW Hall in Hemphill.

Lorenzo White Found Guilty in Bryan Blue Murder Case, Sentenced to 99 Years

On April 30, 2026 a Jury in the First District Court of San Augustine, Texas, found Lorenza Sherrod White guilty of the murder of San Augustine resident Bryan William Blue on December 5, 2022 in San Augustine County. The jury sentenced White to 99 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Sabine County Commissioners Court approves equipment financing, discusses safety improvements

The Sabine County Commissioners Court met Monday, April 27, opening the session with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance before moving through a lengthy agenda that included county financing, road safety measures, election notices, equipment surplus, and updates from county departments and community partners.
