Tristan Boudreaux, pictured beside his mother Tiffany Luce, received the 2026 scholarship award from Walter Jones, Master of Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge No. 305 in Hemphill on Thursday, June 11th. Tristan aspires to become a professional welder and will use his award towards advanced training to pursue that dream.

West Sabine ISD will host Summer Feeding, From May 26, 2026, through June 25, 2026, Monday through Thursday, lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the high school cafeteria at no cost for Children 18 and younger and for enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21.

New Hemphill Mayor Jamie Westbrook was sworn in during May’s regular scheduled meeting, along with Edith McCauley, new to Alderman Place 2 and Glen Chance, Alderman Place 5 and Mayor Pro-Tem. The Hemphill City Council approved the City of Hemphill's fiscal year 202627 budget during its regular meeting Tuesday, June 16, while also hearing updates on infrastructure needs at Sabine County Hospital and reviewing proposals aimed at improving the city's water and wastewater systems.

Camp-meeting service was over. But, many people were gathered in groups, just to visit. After all, it had been a long time, since we had seen each other. I had not been physically able to go last year. So, time with my friends, was even more special, to me.
