Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) will launch a new series of paddling trails at Toledo Bend Reservoir in East Texas, recently designated the official Bass Fishing Capital of Texas. The Lost Frontier Reach, Mid Lake Run, Palo Gaucho and Six Mile Paddling trails increase the number of trails at Toledo Bend to five.

Thomas L. Johnson “TJ” has recently been promoted to Sargeant in the United States Air Force. He is currently stationed in Hawaii. John’s is a graduate of Hemphill High School. Parents are Louis and Sharon Johns of Hemphill.

Jayla Fruge and Richard Bennett proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Bobbi Kate Bennett, born August 7, 2025, at 12:10 p.m. She weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 19.5 inches long.

Kimberly and Scott Greer and Chad Guess are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Cheyenne Guess, to Dylan Nichols, son of Bobby Owen. Dylan is employed as a deckhand with Blessy Marine Towing, while Cheyenne is the co-owner of Twisted Shears Salon in Hemphill. The couple is planning an October wedding and will make their home in Milam.

Jessica Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Byley joyfully announce the engagement of their daughter, Chloe Byley, to Colby Pearson, son of Jason and Caterina Pearson. Colby works with Georgia-Pacific in Pineland, while Chloe serves patients at Toledo Bend Family Medicine in Hemphill. The couple will make their home in Rosevine, where they look forward to building their life together. Surrounded by the love of family and friends, they will exchange vows in a December ceremony.
