The Sabine County Commissioners Court held its regular meeting on Monday, Aug. 25 at 8:30 a.m. on the second floor of the Sabine County Court House. Judge Daryl Melton opened the session with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner James Lowe was not in attendance due Minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed and approved on a motion by Commissioner Brent Cox and a second by Commissioner Keith Nabours.

Organized by Friends of the PHS NASA Museum, the black-tie event will celebrate the museum’s impact in the community and efforts to inspire young people to pursue careers in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math) fields.

Everyone will tell you that when you sell a book, you don’t get to pick the cover. I know this, and I am fine with it. I don’t know much about selling books, and my publisher does nothing but sell books, so I trust they would know what makes for a good cover. But I was flattered when they asked me for ideas about what I’d like on the cover of my book, and I knew right away: Emily Anderson.

I think it's obvious we once read local hometown newspapers more than we do now and I think there's a couple of very good reasons why the thinking, caring public has turned from this activity. The most obvious is, day in and day out we're flooded with huge amounts of useless information, or so called news.
