“NOT IN MY COUNTY!” Sheriff George Griffith and Department focus on cleaning up drugs in Sabine County

PRESS RELAEASE Sunday, November 16, 2025 This evening the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office took the first of several finishing steps of a major investigation and made the arrest of three individuals, all for the Delivery of a Controlled Substance or Possession of a Controlled Substance, specifically Methamphetamine (“Meth”). These individuals sold meth during the course of Operation Crystal Ball, which the Sheriff’s Office started in March of 2025, which was designed to target the sale of Meth in Sabine County.

Monument Plaque Werner Burwood has set up an account. at Southside Bank under the name of Sabine County Alamo Letter Society for people to make donations to help with the cost of the monument plaque “Letter to The Alamo” which will be placed on the courthouse lawn.

Moody perfoms with Malpass Brothers...

What an exciting afternoon in Carthage, Tcxas. Hemphill’s Luke Moody, who opened up HISD’s Veteran’s program with his fiddle on Tuesday, shared the stage at the Carthage Civic Center with the Malpass Brothers. Moody opened for them and joined them later for some Country Music Magic! Up next, Luke is headed to Pasadena to the Hometown Opry on Nov. 21. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10351 was again able to assist HHS Jr. class to visit the Holocaust museum with a donation of $2000. We feel this is an opportunity for these students to learn and visualize the horror of this time in American History. Their country was there to bring an end to these horrible atrocities.
