PINELAND — The City of Pineland honored Donna Nichols last week for more than three decades of dedicated service to the Arthur Temple Sr. Memorial L i b r a r y . Nichols, who will officially retire on December 31, 2025, has served the community for 33 years and five months.

There is an old saying, “Behind every good man there is a good woman.” While this may be true, we believe it goes even further. Behind every dedicated soldier stands a supportive mother, father, spouse, son, daughter, grandfather, or grandmother. These individuals form the backbone of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary. Our motto, “Honor the Dead by Helping the Living,” truly embodies our mission and the values we uphold.

West Sabine Elementary 2nd Graders helped spread Christmas Cheer to the residents at Hemphill Care Center by singing Christmas Carols on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. They also sang at Legacies.

It was a fun night for all and you still have five chances to see a wonderful Holiday Show. Friday, Saturdays 7pm thru Dec 20th and one Sunday matinee this Sunday Dec 14th at 3pm (limited seats still available for Sunday).

Clear, chili weather and throngs of smiling, laughing, happy people interacting and the only phone in sight was mine which is refreshing. No phones around a parade is always a good thing.
