The Monetization of Free Speech...

Body
What is truth? It is the most significant question ever asked. It is a question that finds its way into countless debates on a myriad of subjects. And it is a question that PayPal knows the answer to...or so the company thinks. Just a few weeks ago, PayPal announced changes to its user policies. The politically atavistic company would start fining users up to $2,500 for “the sending, posting, or publication of any messages, content, or materials” that “promote misinformation”. The backlash to the policy change was immediate and intense. PayPal quickly addressed the controversy, stating it had published the rule change by “error”. Users of PayPal, however, should beware that the company remains committed to its woke, censorship agenda. Indeed, PayPal is just a single fish in a school migration toward monetary censorship.

Hemphill Beautiful...

Artist Kristan Wood poses with her mural which is the first in a series that will grace Pineywoods Vineyard’s new location on the east side of the courthouse square. The funds For the murals were approved by the Board of the Great EastTexas Outdoor Fest. The festival was originally formed several years ago to enhance economic development. Some of the funds were left after the organization dissolved and the board felt this was a great opportunity to provide something for the community. Because the murals are designed to be changed seasonally, we needed a way to hold the boards to the brick. The brackets were crafted by local welder Levi Cryer (C-Arrow Services). Look for more additions coming soon.

Two year anniversary of Livye Heathyr Lewis’ murder: Still no closure or peace for her family and friends

Body
It’s something we say to ease the pain, to attempt to hold on to every memory we have. It’s something we say through clinched teeth because no matter how hard we try to be strong and kind, we are bitter. Angry that you are gone and restless that there is no justice in sight.

Now Scheduling...

Body
If you have been under a rock, you may not know. Hemphill is getting a chiropractor and the masses rejoice! Dr. Wendy Walker Whittington is from the Katy area where she has had a thriving practice for twenty-five years. So, how did we get so blessed? We have her family to thank. Her parents had a house on the lake and she’s been coming here for ages. It has been a dream to open a practice here, part-time for now, and eventually, make the move here permanently. She and her husband, Wes, have been fixing up the beautiful office space, located on Oak Street, right beside Wildwood Vagabond, owned by Rachel Sanders. Dr. Walker is scheduling appointments now- on Thursdays and Fridays, with some limited availability on Saturdays. But the office will soon be open Monday through Friday because while chiropractory if The Pines main focus, overall wellness will also be the goal. To achieve this, two masseuses will also be available for appointments. Karrie Booth and Rebecca Waters are also now scheduling clients. And yes, if you must know, I have already booked. Locals may recognize Kacie Neal when they show up for an appointment. By January, she will be on-staff as an aesthetitician at the Pines. While we were interviewing, I also got to meet with Anita Thedford who is a licensed dietician and naturopathic healer. She will be offering some amazing services as well. In a nutshell, call or email to get on these ladies books. You won’t regret it. 409-787-1699 or thepineschiropractic@gmail.com

Hemphill Church of Christ

Body
by Mark Sloan In 2 Peter 1:5-11 we have a list of virtues that are often called, The Christian Graces.” There are eight of these, forming a perfect spiritual octave; and, the individual who possesses all of them, though not any one of them to perfection, to that extent is perfect and complete; Let’s begin by examining the first one” FAITH: Faith in God. There are three inherent ideas in saving, Biblical faith: (a) assenting to the fact that God exists, (Heb.

Happenings at Fairmount Baptist Church

Body
Fairdale Baptist Church is collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. The boxes, filled with toys, school supplies, and personal hygiene items will be sent to child around the world for Christmas. The boxes, which are collected until the first week of November, are given to children who typically receive nothing for Christmas. Each child is told the box was sent by someone who loves them. Then they are told the story of Christ, who was born as a baby and willingly died on the cross for each one of us.
